2013
We first meet at Bristol University whilst at the gym (where else?) and quickly struck up a friendship over our shared love of calisthenics, living a healthy lifestyle and electronic music.

2016
Although Rory graduated from Bristol and we lived in different cities, we both stayed in touch and regularly met up to train calisthenics together.

2018
We moved in together in Camberwell, London. Alongside training calisthenics, we got into "hybrid" training, going for runs together each week.
We completed our biggest fitness challenge to raise money for the community centre Rory worked at, doing a calisthenics-marathon: running a marathon, and doing 1000 push ups, 1000 dips and 1000 pull ups across 10 workout parks in London.

2019
The year we both discovered yoga.
Rory was introduced to it through a community class at his workplace. He then goes on to get a scholarship to train as a teacher and starts teaching yoga in prisons.
Ant got into yoga after developing chronic neck pain and issues with his posture from over-training calisthenics without any focus on mobility.

2020
Yoga was the gateway into meditation. We went to our first silent retreat together at Vajrasana, Suffolk. This was a deeply influential experience, along with following the teachings of Sam Harris via his Waking Up meditation app.
We both go on to incorporate a regular meditation and mindfulness practice into our lives after experiencing the benefits of it.

JANUARY 2023
We register PILLA as a company.
We'd always dreamt of launching a brand together, and there was never any doubt we wanted to do something related to our shared passion of men's wellbeing.
After month's of careful discussion around brand positioning and what we stand for, we go out in search of an activewear designer and brand identity designers.

OCTOBER 2023
We launch the PILLA community.
After struggling to find like-minded guys or active-lifestyle groups in London, we decide to build our own.
Starting with PILLA YOGA CLUB near London fields. It was a huge milestone for us to start connecting with like-minded guys who enjoyed yoga and prioritised their wellbeing. We offered free spaces for prison-leavers to attend as part of our prison-yoga programme.

MARCH 2024
We visit our Portugese manufacturing partners for the first time, ahead of the launch of our first clothing drop.
It's a steep learning-curve for us in relationship building, fabric selection and activewear manufacturing.

MAY 2024
The community grows.
We start running regular sell-out events alongside our weekly YOGA CLUB, including sauna meet-ups, calisthenics sessions, run-club and PRESENCE (a 3hr Dharma yoga and meditation workshop).
Momentum starts to build as guys come along to events and then bring their friends too. Our confidence in PILLA and the movement we've created starts to grow.

JULY 2024
After 18-months of working on PILLA, we launch our first clothing drop: The Perfect Movement Outfit.
We created an outfit that we could wear for all of the ways we liked to train: at the gym, out running and practicing yoga.
Designed for total freedom of movement, made from recycled materials and built for longevity.
